EZY Wheels

What is the load rating of the EZY Wheels?

EZY Wheels are rated to support up to 8,800 pounds per set, making it easy to move both 20-foot and 40-foot empty shipping containers. While they can handle some added weight, they are not designed for moving fully loaded containers.

Can I use 6 Lug EZY Wheels on a 40 foot shipping container?

Yes, they work great with a 40-foot container, maintaining the same rating as the 8 Lug.

How do EZY Wheels work?

Lift your container using your equipment, insert the EZY Wheel into the bottom ISO Pocket, and turn it to lock in place. Then, secure a ratchet strap from the EZY Wheel to the top of the container and back down. This ensures the wheels stay securely attached if the container goes high center during movement. The ratchet straps don’t need to be overly tight—they're simply there to prevent the EZY Wheels from unlocking.

Do I have to use ratchet straps?

Ratchet straps ensures the EZY Wheels remain securely attached if the container goes high center during use. The straps require minimal tension—they simply prevent the wheels from turning and unlocking.

Can I use EZY Wheels on the highway?

Absolutely NOT! These are NOT designed for highway use. EZY Wheels are intended for off-road use only at slow speeds. They do not have a braking system or suspension.

What is the difference between the 6 Lug and 8 Lug EZY Wheels?

Both sizes have the same rating! The difference is simply for wheel and tire availability, allowing you to save money by using your own.

  • 8 Lug: 8x6.5 (Fits many old truck wheels and tires—be sure to check before purchasing.)
  • 6 Lug: 6x5.5 (Standard Chevy half-ton truck size. However, some wheels may have a center hole that is too small—it needs to be at least 3.5 inches. We recommend purchasing EZY Wheels first before buying used wheels and tires from another source.)
When using EZY Wheels, how far is the shipping container from the ground?

We can't guarantee all wheels and tires, but when using Container Nut wheels and tires, your shipping container will sit approximately 12 inches off the ground.

What size tires come in the EZY Wheel bundles?

All bundles and packages come with ST235/80R16 wheels and tires.
The wheels are 16 inches.

How far do EZY Wheels stick out from the container?

Approximately 12 inches on each side of your container depending on your tires.

What is the tire rating that Container Nut sells?

We sell E rated tires, in most cases any tire will work. Since these are for off road use, they just need to not be dry rotted and hold air.

What materials are EZY Wheels made out of?

Our EZY Wheels are constructed from cold-rolled American steel, with all parts manufactured locally in Missouri, USA. We are committed to using only American steel for unmatched quality.

  • Robotic Welded
  • Laser Cut
  • Custom-Built Spindles for moving shipping containers

While our hubs are sourced from overseas, the EZY Wheels and most of our other products are nickel-chrome plated for exceptional durability. We believe that when you invest in our products, they should be built to last a lifetime.

What finish is on EZY Wheels?

EZY Wheels are nickel chrome plated.

Are EZY Wheels made in the USA?

Yes! We do not outsource the production of our EZY Wheels—they are proudly made in Washington, Missouri, using only USA steel. Many of the machines used to manufacture our products also come from Washington, Missouri. While we source our hubs from overseas, the rest of our components are built right here in Missouri, USA.

Can EZY Wheels go on the door ends of your shipping containers?

Absolutely! This is an excellent way to move your container side to side or within its own tracks. On the non-door side, the EZY Wheels install the same way as they do on the sides. For the door-end, we recommend placing a 2x4 between the EZY Wheel and the container to keep the wheels vertical and protect your doors.

Can I move a full shipping container?

EZY Wheels are designed to support 8,800 pounds per end, meaning they can handle a container with a total weight of up to 17,600 pounds, provided the weight is evenly distributed. However, we recommend keeping your container as empty as possible. Many pieces of equipment may struggle to lift the opposite end if too much weight is added, making it difficult to move the container.

Lifters

What is the difference between the EZY Lift and the HD EZY Lift?

Our HD EZY Lift is designed for larger 12-ton bottle jacks, with an overall larger size to accommodate the jack.

Our Standard EZY Lift performs the same tasks as the HD version but is a more cost-effective option if you need to purchase a jack. It is compatible with smaller 8-ton bottle jacks.
